Key Features of the Subclass 417 and 462 Visas:

Must be applied for from outside Australia
Eligibility Criteria:
You must hold a passport from an eligible country
You must have sufficient funds and be able to provide evidence
Be between 18 and 30 or 35 years (depending on your country of passport)

Additional Criteria for Subclass 462:
You must have function English
You must meet the educational requirement
Certain countries need a letter of support from their government

Subclass 600 Visitor Visa
Visit Australia for Tourism, Family or Business
The subclass 600 Visitor visa is a flexible Australian visitor visa that allows individuals to visit Australia for tourism, family visits or business purposes. It is suitable for applicants who do not hold a passport from an ETA or eVisitor-eligible country.
The subclass 600 Visitor visa offers a range of streams tailored to suit different purposes of travel to Australia. Each stream has specific requirements and conditions, allowing applicants to choose the most appropriate option based on their individual circumstances and travel intentions.
Generally, Visitor visas are granted for stay up to 3, 6 or 12 months. Some streams allow single or multiple entry, and some require sponsorship or evidence of a formal invitation.
The streams currently available include:
Tourist Stream (Onshore & Offshore)
Allows individuals to visit Australia for holidays, sightseeing or to visit family and friends. You can apply from either within Australia or from overseas.
Business Visitor Stream
Permits short-term travel to Australia for business-related activities such as attending conferences, negotiations, or meetings, without engaging in paid work.
Sponsored Family Stream
Enables visitors to come to Australia to visit family members, with sponsorship required from an eligible Australian citizen or permanent resident.
Approved Destination Status Stream
Designed for citizens from certain areas of China travelling in organised tour groups under arrangements between the Australian and Chinese governments.
Frequent Traveller Stream
Available to eligible citizens of certain countries who travel frequently to Australia for business or personal reasons, offering a visa of up to 10 years with 3 months stay on each entry into Australia.
Subclass 601 Electronic Travel Authority
The Subclass 601 visa, also known as the Electronic Travel Authority (ETA), is a short-term travel visa designed for passport holders from eligible countries who wish to visit Australia for tourism or business purposes. Each stay must not exceed 3 month
Eligibility Criteria:
Must be outside Australia when applying
Hold a valid passport from an eligible country

This visa is a fast and convenient option for eligible travellers who plan to visit Australia for short-term purposes, including holidays or business visits. There is strictly no work allowed on this visa.
